Rain, Golf, Marketing…

And Some Validation, Too!  -

Looks like we are in for a nasty weekend weather-wise here in the Atlanta area.  For those of us that are golfers, rain this time of year is a cruel, cruel joke.  We want to be OUTSIDE on the golf course!  (If you’re an Atlanta golfer, I’ve got some good news about all that.)  Me and the studly PotPieDude have a busy weekend planned in spite of the weather, so let’s wrap up this week.

Good News For Atlanta Golfers

When it rains…. Golfers in my area of Georgia head to Bottom of the Cup to play INDOOR golf.  Yes, real live bring-your-bag, put-on-your-golf-shoes type golf (BUT, you won’t lose a ball – or TEN!  haha!).  The are the only golf simulators in Georgia like this… and they are AWESOME!

This is the weather we have to look forward to here in Barrow County Georgia this weekend:

rainy weather for golfers in atlanta

Nice, huh?  When it’s springtime in the South, we golfers can’t wait to hit the links on the weekends…weather forecasts like this can make us VERY cranky!

Thankfully, the one and only Atlanta Indoor Golf course is about 30 minutes from my house.  That’s where I will be this weekend.  Already have my tournament and playing partners lined up with me and PotPieDude (right Gary and Ben Sr? ).

If you’re in the Barrow, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson County area of Georgia, take at look at Bottom of the Cup Golf Bar and Grill.  It’s really close to Chateau Elan in Braselton…. just down the street from Reunion Golf Course in the Duncan Corners shopping center there are Spout Springs and Thompson Mill Rd.  Me and the Dude will be there all day tomorrow (Saturday) so stop by and say “hey”.

Ben and Gary (owners of Bottom of the Cup) have a great place.  This weekend marks their one-year anniversary so I’m sure this indoor golf sports bar will be a super fun place to be.  Hope you can join us!

Awesome Online Marketing Summit

I have spent the last two days watching the Canada Marketing Summit on UStream. These last two days they have had some fantastic speakers and presentations… and there are two more days left!  Thank goodness they will archive the past speakers so I can see who I will miss tomorrow!

This is highly recommended if you’re on your computer this weekend.  Nothing like a high-quality marketing seminar coming right to YOU  =)

Last But Not Least… Parking Validation

Yes, parking validation.  At this seminar I’ve been watching, a recent speaker spoke of this YouTube video and played a piece of it.  Wow!  I just love it!

All in all it just feels good to watch it… BUT, if you get a marketing-related lesson out of it – GOOD!  You will go very far in this business.  Apply this to all of your life and you will reach the stars!

Pass it on…. make someone else feel good today!

I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!  Wish me luck with the indoor golf tournament.  I’ll be playing my final round of a 4-round tournament and it looks like I need to shoot an 84 or better to win my flight.  Yikes!  Talk about PRESSURE!

very interested in that marketing summit, will have to stay home so I can catch that. I know what you mean about the rain being from Hawaii. and it does suck when your waiting for the weekend for it to bomb like that.

Good luck at the tournament and remember *quotes happy gilmore* Its all in the hips

So sorry to hear about your weather in the Atlanta area. Would you like to trade forecasts? The forecast for today in Duluth, MN is 100% heavy snow, wind gusts as high as 45 mph, with total daytime snow accumulation of 5-9 inches. Kind of makes 61 degrees and cloudy sound good, doesn’t it.

That video is awesome! I love the creativity some folks have.

And how cool is that indoor golf bar you go to?!?!?! I wish we had something like that here – I would be there 24/7!

Think before you respond to a blog post, especially when the post contradicts your belief.
