You see, much like you when I started in what is called “network marketing” it was all about selling, or pretending to give to sell. It didn’t work for me either.
Now I give tons of info through forum posts, free tutorials, blog post and articles and people are now responding to what I sell in a big way. I love to give, it inspires me. Selling doesn’t.

Like you, I find it hard to SELL or to PUSH products onto people. It feels like I’m forcing them to do something that does not benefit them.

The greatest satisfaction I get is when people BUY because they have a need, not because I was glib.

Of the millions of bloggers out there, I’ve finally come across someone of like-mind! I totally agree with you that one can make more by giving more. Research International (UK) Ltd published its findings about Cause Related Marketing and reported that 81% of consumers agree that they are more likely to buy a product or service that is associated with a cause they care about, price and quality being equal.
86% of consumers have a more positive image of a company they see doing something to make the world a better place regardless of the specific charity or cause being addressed.

It is good for business to give because it makes the consumers feel good about themselves that by patronising a service or product that is socially-responsive, they, too, become part of a system that gives to others. This is exactly what the company I work for is doing. I would love for more companies to do social entrepreneurship.

I get the feeling you are the real deal.I have subscribed to your blog, which I think is wonderful. I have been watching some of your videos. I have tried a lot of those shiny packages that you talk about and have not been very happy with them. A lot of them just show you how to sell their shiny package and I don’t want to do that. I do not want to take advantage of anyone. I want to be an affiliate for a real business. I did join WA, and I have a really good feeling about them too. I just have a few questions on you OWM plan. I’m tempted to buy, but I told myself I wasn’t going to buy anything else once I joined WA, but I’m really lost here. There is soooo much information, I just don’t know what to do. Does your OWM plan incorporate WA. Does it go hand in hand so to speak? Also, and I don’t mean to insult you, but if I do purchase OWM, once my credit card info is given, does it come up with a lot of must have upgrades. That’s how the shiny packages usually work and I always feel like what I just bought won’t work because I didn’t buy all the extras.
I have been trying to find a legitimate place to learn how to build an affiliate business for about 2 years. I think I might have found it with WA, and you. 😀

Another great post full of excellent info. I also know PPG from WA and have been following her success, and hoping mine will follow soon. I am a go giver, but sometimes am confused about what to give… what others will want. I definately am a door opener, and don’t like pushy salemen either. I can not be a pushy saleman, it’s just not me. Sometimes when I give out a lot of great content, I feel bad about trying to sell them a product. I know it’s their choice to buy what I suggest, and I shouldn’t worry about it so much, but I always wonder if people are satisfied with their purchase. I guess I shouldn’t take it so personally, after all I am also trying to make money internet marketing.
