Well folks, the time has come. Twitter is a place we need to be. Personally, I’ve toyed with it, but just never “got” the concept of it and never quite understood why I would spend my time “tweeting” at people. Well, PotPieGirl has changed her ways – and I’m about to change yours, too.

Why Twitter?

Regardless of WHAT Twitter IS, let’s talk about WHY you should even take the time to learn about it.

According to these statistics, there are 5- 10 THOUSAND accounts opened on Twitter.com EVERY DAY.

Five to ten THOUSAND new users every single day…. let that sink in for just a second.

You need more exposure… you need to expand your reach… you need to build your brand….

And Twitter has 5-10 THOUSAND new users every single DAY.

Do I Have Time To Use Twitter?

Regardless of what Twitter is, do I have TIME to participate on Twitter and be an asset to my followers?

Ok, so maybe you don’t know what Twitter is – or maybe you just don’t “get it”. No worries, you are certainly NOT alone there.

I just took a BIG chunk of time and got all my Twitter-ness together AND got it all automated. All I have to do is talk…and I do THAT fairly well…lol!

Now, I am going to teach you how to do it, too.

  1. I hear what you’re saying but I’m still not convinced. I could show you similar graphs of new users coming online every day so maybe we should all spend more time on SEO?

    I’m not trying to be in your face or anything but I still don’t see what Twitter is the “be all” thing compared to all the other options that we have?

      Excellent feedback, thank you! And I’ll admit… I thought the same thing =)

      I did a lot of reading AND a lot of watching (stalking? lol!) on Twitter and paid close attention to how the power-users utilize it.

      It is VERY powerful. The ability for something to go viral and take off in directions that you’d never have access to is SO possible.

      Besides, name me a single place online, or OFFLINE, where I can chat with Anthony Robbins for free? lol!

      The fact remains, we can SEO our sites to death… we can chat in theme-specific forums….we can have social network profiles, but nothing replaces the reach we can have when we talk real-time with real people. We need to come OFF our websites and our web pages in order to truly expand our reach. Twitter allows that with a HUMAN touch. It’s real people, not links and stats.

      Just how I feel about it!

    This seems to be a great vehicle for someone like yourself who is the master of the affiliate marketing/seo niche here at Potpiegirl,com and your corresponding flagship Squidoo lens.

    I’m almost ready to jump in , however, I still would like a bit more info and a few more questions answered in order to wrap my brain around it all.

    How will this help someone who is spread out in a gazillion (several) different affiliate niches?

    Finally, How will it help those who don’t have a personal blog and who don’t just focus on one or two niches AND still be productive without creating even more work to an already full plate with OWM blueprint?

    I’m so looking forward to your answer because I know you’ll make it so plain even I could understand:)

    Ok – Let’s see if I can answer all this for you. I’ve had the same questions/thoughts myself so this shouldn’t be hard, right? lol!

    If we stop thinking about specific niches for a moment, and instead think about “reach”, it can really help put Twitter into perspective.

    In just the past 24 hours…

    I needed a way to translate an email… asked on Twitter. Got an answer.

    I needed a free online book cover generator. Asked on Twitter, got not only some answers, but a recommend for a new online service that looks AWESOME!

    I have had two offers for interviews from other bloggers (how flattering!)

    I have admitted my love of Cheese Fries and my odd fondness for the one-hit wonder “Jenni Jenni 867-5309” (ok, that’s probably not so impressive….lol)

    I have met tons of folks just because someone I was following is following them, or because someone that is following me talked with me and one of their followers saw. Whew! That was a mouthful!

    Also, when I update a Squidoo lens, I can automatically “tweet” that, and some people are interested and go look.

    My blog posts automatically get “tweeted” and people read…and pass it on to those that are following them and so on and so on.

    It’s a pretty powerful tool with a genuine human touch.

    I am really liking it =)

  8. Finally, I get it. I knew I would once you put it in Potpiegirl terms.

    It’s kinda like Twitter is the hub in the center of a spoked wheel ( niches/branches).

    I was watching CNN today and Rick Sanchez mentioned Twitter in his teaser promo and how in 2009, their news broadcast would be doing things different this year. Instead of simply ‘reporting to us’ the viewer, they would be ‘talking with us’ presumably by using tools like Twitter.

    Off to twitter I go.

    I’ll tell you something else, SunShine… the more I am on Twitter, the more I realize it is like my virtual office, in a way.

    If someone wants to talk to me real-time, just @potpiegirl in Twitter and I will answer back right away if I am online or as soon as I get back online.

    This could be very helpful for me and MIGHT help cut down on email while helping others at the same time.

      There seems to be some weird glitch with Internet Explorer. Three other folks have reported this to me, and when each of them switched to FireFox, they were able to purchase with no issue.

      I have no clue WHY, but it seems to be an IE issue.

  16. Twitter is great as a money making platform. Most money that you could make from twitter is using CPA offers. Do you know there is a new PPC (Pay per click) service which can be used to generate $20-$50 a day from Twitter Tweets?
