Where you live and your ethnicity do not actually matter. Your sex isn’t important. How you look, where you stand politically–and so on., you get the idea. In online marketing what matters most is that you want to succeed and that you’re willing to work hard to get there.

I work with a colleague in a business where I was/am fairly junior. He is one of the best at his craft in the industry. I’m lucky to work with him. He told me, and it’s probably the best bit of advice I ever received from him or anyone (and he’s helped me out tremendously), and it’s “never be scared.”

Fear kills creativity, focus, motivation, results, action … pretty much everything that generates results. What I love about internet marketing is mistakes don’t matter too much, except maybe having a site de-indexed or violating the FCC. However, aside from that it’s my view to just plow ahead full steam and see what sticks. Once I see what sticks, I keep doing that. Plenty of stuff I’ve done and do failed miserably. BUT a few things worked out very nicely and that’s all I needed.

I like what Peter Lynch said about investing. He said you only need to be right 3 times in your life. If you pick 3 winners you can earn enough money to never worry about money again. It’s simplistic, but that’s what worked for him. It’s the same with internet marketing – if you have 3 things that work (heck, 1 will do it), you have a recipe for a full scale business.

I picked up OWM and Conversation with Nick again. I had started worked on lenses when I first purchased it, but then wasnt seeing traffic from it., so I thought I didn’t work anymore. I just picked it up again tonight and somehow I believe OWM is going to work for me.

However, some things have outdated since you wrote the book. For instance, 3 step ads no longer exists. My question to you is has OWM been updated to reflect the changes on google? If so, do we have to pay for an upgraded copy?
