Let's Keep In Touch!Anyone Up For Some Image Association?
Y’all would not believe how much I read online. Even *I* can’t believe how much I read online…haha! I read forums and other blogs and more forums. I read emails and comments….and more emails….and more emails. Since One Week Marketing has been released, I am spending so much time reading and responding – it’s crazy! I love it! There are some amazing people in this world and I am truly honored to meet each and every one.
There is an on-going theme in a lot of forums and in a lot of emails that I am seeing that makes me want to go into one of my long and rambling posts. I actually started typing it, but then stopped when I realized that I could probably get the same point across with two little pictures.
So, Let’s Play A Little Game

Confidence and risk. The first image makes me think of someone who has decided to work from home and have been successful. She now has the confidence to continue that way of life and can now enjoy the benefits (e.g. family life). The second image makes me think of risk – trying to make money by gambling instead of planning.

I thought of work vs luck – the way that in IM a lot of people seem to think you need to be lucky to succeed, whereas really it has more to do with your own actions and attitude, which are under your control.
I think of working from home as being a gamble, but if you “hit it,” it makes it worthwhile.
Hmmm….Im thinking Gambling in Canada vs. Gambling in the U.S. hehe

Okay, Jennifer…I’m going to be really honest about my first reaction to these two pictures — that baby sitting unattended on the couch in that sterile white environment bothers me — and looks as unlikely as ‘hitting it big’ on the slots.
It certainly doesn’t represent anything close to my ‘truth’ about working from home while raising children! LOL

Working from home with small children present is stressful. Stress leads to drinking pink wine coolers. Drinking pink wine coolers leads to gambling in Vegas. How’s that for reading into the images?

Work at home Mom, seems secure and confident in caring for and providing for her family.
Not having a source of income that you control = gambling.
BTW – I am a newbie affiliate marketer, a fan of PotPieGirI, and still working my way through the OWM. I hope I can make this work for me, especially since I lost my job today.
The first image reminhds me of a successfull single mom who is successfull in internet marketing. The second picture tells me that internet marketing is a risk but just like slots, if you keep pulling the lever, you will eventually win.
1. JaguarJulie has a comfortable lead in the “Giant Squid Awards”.
2. My odds for surpassing her are comparable to casino gambling.
Do I sound pre-occupied? You bet. LOL
OK, seriously – the first image radiates confidence, success, and ease (working while watching the baby).
The second image looks like the opposite of #1. It looks evil, mean, like running in circles and not getting anywhere, losing money, downfall, bankruptcy, addiction, prison, death!
That was fun!
The cool, calm picture of the woman is how I look on the outside to most everyone who knows me.
However…
On the inside, I’m risking it everyday while building pages and focusing on niches that may or may not payoff.
I wouldn’t have it any other way!
