… and to all a good night.
Just a quick post tonight to all my wonderful PotPieGirl.com readers. On this Christmas Eve, I’d like to take a moment to wish each of you a wonderful, healthy, and SAFE holiday season. I hope this holiday season finds you in good health and surrounded by loved ones.
Christmas at PotPieGirl’s House
Just like most of you, I have spent the last few days shopping, cleaning, visiting, and wrapping (and wrapping some more!). For such a magical and special time of year, it sure can be exhausting, can’t it?
Worse yet is the expectations we put upon ourselves. Each present must be perfect. Each cookie or meal cooked must also be perfect. All we end up being is perfectly exhausted.
I hope each of you take a moment to enjoy this special time. There is more to this holiday than the commercial aspect – tho it is hard to escape the financial side of things.
As I stood in line at a local store tonight, I realized that I have been out shopping on Christmas Eve for as long as I can remember. No matter what I do, I still have yet to be able to avoid that one last dash to the store.
Oddly, it is the one thing that truly puts me in the spirit. I come home and wrap and try to avoid the prying eyes of children…..and my husband. All the commercial stress goes away and I begin to feel the “Wow, how blessed am I?” feeling wash over me.
This is my 21st year being a mom at Christmas. I have always loved Christmas Eve – even tho I tend to feel over-whelmed as the day begins and the list of all I have to accomplish washes over me.
Why we over-whelm ourselves this way, I really don’t know – but we do it anyway, don’t we?
Kids and Christmas
Children make this holiday so incredible. My children have been the greatest blessing of all.
I hope you each take a moment to count your blessings tonight and tomorrow. We are each blessed – no matter how bleak you may feel. This holiday season can be such a stress financially, but it’s time now to let all that go.
Enjoy your family – adore your kids. Let the magic fill your heart.
If you’re having a hard time this holiday please remember that you are not alone. If you’re reading these words right now, I can promise you that there is one quirky little woman in Atlanta who thinks YOU are awesome.
We all KNOW that only really cool people read this blog anyway! haha!
From the PotPieGirl family…. and from PotPieGirl’s heart…
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
PLEASE be safe.
Like many others, I have family coming in, family going out and all-in-all general craziness for the next few days. I will get to my email and messages just as soon as I can, but above all, I want to enjoy this time with my kids, family and friends.
Blessings and Joy to All Of You!
Jennifer

Merry Christmas to you and yours,Jennifer! I would just like to thank you for all that you do. I don’t keep in touch a lot but I read everything you post and without your blog, lenses and OWM I wouldn’t have had any hope of changing my financial picture. I know 2009 will be a good year for my online endeavors and it’s largely because of what I am learning from you.
I wish you continued success in 2009!
