Using Twitter – My Twitter Tutorial

by PotPieGirl on December 31, 2008 · 24 comments

How The Top Twitter Users Do It -

Well folks, the time has come. Twitter is a place we need to be. Personally, I’ve toyed with it, but just never “got” the concept of it and never quite understood why I would spend my time “tweeting” at people. Well, PotPieGirl has changed her ways – and I’m about to change yours, too.

Why Twitter?

Regardless of WHAT Twitter IS, let’s talk about WHY you should even take the time to learn about it.

According to these statistics, there are 5- 10 THOUSAND accounts opened on Twitter.com EVERY DAY.

Five to ten THOUSAND new users every single day…. let that sink in for just a second.

You need more exposure… you need to expand your reach… you need to build your brand….

And Twitter has 5-10 THOUSAND new users every single DAY.

Sinking in now?

Do I Have Time To Use Twitter?

Regardless of what Twitter is, do I have TIME to participate on Twitter and be an asset to my followers?

Guess what I realized?

I realized this is something I better MAKE time for. Today. Now.

Look at this (image from State of the Twittersphere – Q4 2008 Report)

Holy WOW, huh?

If you’ve been avoiding Twitter like the plague, or if you have been like me and “using” Twitter half-assed, it’s time to face change and get on board.

Tips To Twitter Success

Ok, so maybe you don’t know what Twitter is – or maybe you just don’t “get it”. No worries, you are certainly NOT alone there.

I just took a BIG chunk of time and got all my Twitter-ness together AND got it all automated. All I have to do is talk…and I do THAT fairly well…lol!

Now, I am going to teach you how to do it, too.

First things first…

Here’s what I want you to do.

Go to www.TwitterSuccessTips.com and get that two-guide Twitter manual. It’s less than $10 so don’t worry about breaking the bank on this one. Besides, it is very good. Eye-opening, in fact, and more proof that you either start using Twitter – or get left behind.

Then, email me a copy of your PayPal receipt and I am going to send you my personal Twitter Tutorial for free. In it you will learn (with pictures) how I set up my Twitter account to work for ME.

Yup, everything I did to get my Twitter page looking good, to automating a TON of things is all in this little pdf I put together – and it’s all free to you because you took the time to learn about something that you need to know.

Who Needs To Be Using Twitter?

Look, it doesn’t matter if you are involved in affiliate marketing of if you have a company that sells swing sets to giraffes…. it is time to be on Twitter and expand your reach to your target audience (and beyond)!

It’s time to learn about Twitter, time to set it all up the RIGHT way so you have the “grunt work” part of it all automated FOR you, and it is time to be using Twitter.

The best time to face change is RIGHT NOW. Just do it and start the New Year off right.

Just go here to www.TwitterSuccessTips.com and get your copy of this 2-guide package. Then, email me at potpiegirl (at) potpieworld.com and send me a copy of your PayPal receipt.

I will then send you my personal Twitter guide for free.

No strings – no affiliate links inside – nothing like that…. Just the simple step by step way I got all my Twitter stuff in order using all free services and tools.

This is something you will be SO glad you did.

Have a great day!

I hear what you’re saying but I’m still not convinced. I could show you similar graphs of new users coming online every day so maybe we should all spend more time on SEO?

I’m not trying to be in your face or anything but I still don’t see what Twitter is the “be all” thing compared to all the other options that we have?

If you would care to explain further I would really like to know. Thanks ;)

Excellent feedback, thank you! And I’ll admit… I thought the same thing =)

I did a lot of reading AND a lot of watching (stalking? lol!) on Twitter and paid close attention to how the power-users utilize it.

It is VERY powerful. The ability for something to go viral and take off in directions that you’d never have access to is SO possible.

Besides, name me a single place online, or OFFLINE, where I can chat with Anthony Robbins for free? lol!

The fact remains, we can SEO our sites to death… we can chat in theme-specific forums….we can have social network profiles, but nothing replaces the reach we can have when we talk real-time with real people. We need to come OFF our websites and our web pages in order to truly expand our reach. Twitter allows that with a HUMAN touch. It’s real people, not links and stats.

Just how I feel about it!

Thanks for your feedback!

Julie @ Write for eHow December 31, 2008 at 1:12 am

Twitter is so easy to use and not time-consuming at all, unlike other social sites.

Yesterday I “twitted” a blog post to my 100 or so followers and within minutes had made an affiliate sale. I’m fairly confident it was the result of Twitter.

Hi Julie =)

Absolutely! My goodness, after setting my whole Twitter network up, you should just SEE what happened AUTOMATICALLY after making this post…. it’s crazy.

When used properly, Twitter is VERY powerful!

Does Twitter Success Tips have different information then Twitter for Twits? Cause I bought that one a few days ago.

“Does Twitter Success Tips have different information then Twitter for Twits? Cause I bought that one a few days ago.”

Crissy – I don’t believe it does. TwitterSuccessTips.com is more of a conversation/interview type guide(s) – and my bonus report is totally unique because well, because I wrote it…lol!

Hi Jennifer,

This seems to be a great vehicle for someone like yourself who is the master of the affiliate marketing/seo niche here at Potpiegirl, com and your corresponding flagship Squidoo lens.

I’m almost ready to jump in , however, I still would like a bit more info and a few more questions answered in order to wrap my brain around it all.

How will this help someone who is spread out in a gazillion (several) different affiliate niches?

Finally, How will it help those who don’t have a personal blog and who don’t just focus on one or two niches AND still be productive without creating even more work to an already full plate with OWM blueprint?

I’m so looking forward to your answer because I know you’ll make it so plain even I could understand:)

Happy New Year!

PotPieGirl January 1, 2009 at 12:46 am

Sunshine! Hiya =) Happy New Year to you!!

Ok – Let’s see if I can answer all this for you. I’ve had the same questions/thoughts myself so this shouldn’t be hard, right? lol!

If we stop thinking about specific niches for a moment, and instead think about “reach”, it can really help put Twitter into perspective.

In just the past 24 hours…

I needed a way to translate an email… asked on Twitter. Got an answer.

I needed a free online book cover generator. Asked on Twitter, got not only some answers, but a recommend for a new online service that looks AWESOME!

I have had two offers for interviews from other bloggers (how flattering!)

I have admitted my love of Cheese Fries and my odd fondness for the one-hit wonder “Jenni Jenni 867-5309″ (ok, that’s probably not so impressive….lol)

I have met tons of folks just because someone I was following is following them, or because someone that is following me talked with me and one of their followers saw. Whew! That was a mouthful!

Also, when I update a Squidoo lens, I can automatically “tweet” that, and some people are interested and go look.

My blog posts automatically get “tweeted” and people read…and pass it on to those that are following them and so on and so on.

It’s a pretty powerful tool with a genuine human touch.

I am really liking it =)

Hope that answers your questions. If not, let me know and I’ll do one of my famous ramble-endlessly blog posts about it ;)

Happy New Year, Sunshine!

Finally, I get it. I knew I would once you put it in Potpiegirl terms.

It’s kinda like Twitter is the hub in the center of a spoked wheel ( niches/branches).

I was watching CNN today and Rick Sanchez mentioned Twitter in his teaser promo and how in 2009, their news broadcast would be doing things different this year. Instead of simply ‘reporting to us’ the viewer, they would be ‘talking with us’ presumably by using tools like Twitter.

Off to twitter I go.

PotPieGirl January 1, 2009 at 11:19 pm

I’ll tell you something else, SunShine… the more I am on Twitter, the more I realize it is like my virtual office, in a way.

If someone wants to talk to me real-time, just @potpiegirl in Twitter and I will answer back right away if I am online or as soon as I get back online.

This could be very helpful for me and MIGHT help cut down on email while helping others at the same time.

Kinda cool, huh?

Ps3 January 2, 2009 at 6:09 pm

So what exactly is so good? I mean… what can I get out of twitter? How will it benefit me in any way at all? I don’t really want to dig out the money and find out I don’t need it! Hehe.

PotPieGirl January 2, 2009 at 6:24 pm

Hiya =) Twitter is completely free to use so there is no risk in signing up and taking it for a test-drive. ;)

Thor January 15, 2009 at 12:24 am

I’ve tried to use your link to buy the twitter success book…but over there whenever I click the paypal link, it times out.

There seems to be some weird glitch with Internet Explorer. Three other folks have reported this to me, and when each of them switched to FireFox, they were able to purchase with no issue.

I have no clue WHY, but it seems to be an IE issue.

Thanks for asking!

Hello Potpie Girl..
Thanks for all of your help. I can’t get the link for http://www.twittersuccesstips.com/ to work. I get an oops message. Is this product still available?

implantingideas July 2, 2009 at 8:05 am

Twitter is great as a money making platform. Most money that you could make from twitter is using CPA offers. Do you know there is a new PPC (Pay per click) service which can be used to generate $20-$50 a day from Twitter Tweets?

Kay July 19, 2009 at 4:23 pm

TwitterSuccessTips.com is no longer there.

When I click on it, it takes me to a “This page is parked free” site.

To implantingideas – what is the new PPC?
