Why Are You On THAT List?

Post image for Why Are You On THAT List?

by PotPieGirl on December 5, 2011 · 58 comments

Once upon a time, I was new to all this… And – I was REALLY new. I didn’t know squat about internet marketing or HTML or back links or writing articles. Heck, for all I knew, FTP was the same as ABC or MTV (yes, I am child of the early 80′s when MTV was cool…lol). Point is, I knew nothing and I had no money to invest in all this. So, I signed up for every free training I could get my hands on – which, in turn, meant I was on 50 million marketers list (and my oh my, what a full inbox I had…lol!)

Thing is, there was one marketer that I came across very early when I started in 2007 and he was someone that had this big impact on me. All these years later, I am STILL on his list. Even after my days of overwhelm from so much email when I get into “purge mode”, I still refuse to unsubscribe from any of his lists (and I am on quite a few of his lists).

Do any of you do that? See your inbox blow up day after day and find yourself asking, “Ok, Self, why are you on THAT list???” – and then start purging to get SOME control over your inbox?

Anyway…

Yes, being on a few of his lists means that I tend to get duplicate emails and such – but I don’t mind. Every single email is a lesson for me. Heck, even all the OTHER lists I am on are lessons for me in one way or another (anyone remember my Stop Selling To Me! post?)

From the moment I came across this marketer I found myself thinking, “Wow, this is a real person!”

Silly, huh? I mean c’mon, we’re all “real people”, right?

But maybe you know what I mean? He came across as real – not some sort of know-it-all, only in it for me, Guru type.

Being on his list was my first moment of realizing that I can be my normal goober self and still do really well online. I don’t have to type perfect or know everything – I don’t have to write compelling copy or anything fancy. I could just be ME.

And let me tell ya – that was a HUGE relief for me! Being ME is easy – trying to be some super marketer was NOT me…and NOT easy to try and be or present myself as.

I am a goober and a weirdo a lot of the time and I do tend to march to my own drummer – but this person let me know it was ok to be that way AND do well online.

No, he didn’t tell me that directly, but I saw that it works just fine. I could see that you could be a real, live, caring human being AND do well online. No “fake it til you make it” bs – just be genuine and real and give a crap about WHO is reading…not just your bottom line.

So, who IS that person I am talking about?

Anyone ever heard of the free course called Bum Marketing? Or perhaps InstaCash Keywords? Maybe you’ve heard of The Magic of Making Up?

Yep, I am talking about Travis Sago. Today, I want to give a shout-out to Travis for being someone who was – and still is – so impactful on my career. (uh oh, spell check just underlined “impactful” – guess it’s not a word? Well, it’s my blog – it is now officially a word…lol!)

I was talking to a friend the other day about people that really helped me get on the right path with internet marketing. The first person that came to my mind was Travis. Sadly, I don’t think Travis knows this and to me, that’s not right. He SHOULD know this! When someone helps you make big change in your life, you SHOULD say thank you and let them know, right?

So here it is -

*start-public-statement

Travis, THANK YOU! You made me realize that real, genuine, and caring people hold the key to success online. That realization for me was like a light bulb going off that helped set my path to where I am today – and where I hope to be in the future. Thank you for the impact on my online career AND for all the others you continue to help and encourage along the way.

For years now, I have watched you put yourself out there and really try to help people find success with internet marketing. As one of those people you inspired all those years ago, I thank you.

*/public-statement

Ever read so much from another marketer that you really feel like you know them? I sure have! Sadly, some I meet in person and they are not what I had made them to be.

But now Travis on the other hand, is TOTALLY the same in real life. It’s to the point now that when I read his emails, I can HEAR him. Very, very odd, I know – but did I mention I can be a weird-o?

The past 2 years, I have had the pleasure of hanging out with Travis and his awesome wife in Las Vegas for our yearly Wealthy Affiliate conference (that’s a picture of us – and yeah, I sure had a hair thing going on…lol!).

I’m telling you, that man is EXACTLY the same in real life as he comes across online.

Let me tell you something else – Travis is SMART. He just pops out with great ideas off the top of his head. Now, I’m not talking “deceptive” smart as in, how can I trick folks into doing something – I mean business SMART. Some things he said that were pure common sense to him were total “a-ha” moments for me. Priceless!

I can remember sitting around with Travis and Ryan Moran and just wanting to LISTEN to both of them brainstorm and talk.

Hey, laugh if you want, but I am not a natural-born marketer – sales and marketing processes don’t come naturally to me. I had to learn to think this way – and I’m still learning.

Ryan is another amazing marketer and all-around great guy. He and I started online about the same time, but get this – he was a COLLEGE student when he started. That kid was making MAJOR money from his DORM ROOM.

He is also a “real person” that I find to be genuine and he isn’t afraid to show his “goober side”. And boy oh boy, he is one smart cookie too. It didn’t take me but about 5 seconds to realize that Ryan would achieve amazing things online and/or in ANYTHING he chose to do. I was right too – he has had incredible success online and continues to do great things. That’s a picture of Ryan and I being total goobers in Vegas. We were trying to do a cool Wealthy Affiliate (WA) hand sign thing.

Anyway, the reason I am writing this today is because I think it’s important to say something when someone makes a difference in your life. I’ve never said it before – and I should have.

I didn’t get here alone – and neither should any of you. Travis is someone I totally recommend paying attention to. He knows what he is doing AND he cares if you succeed or not.

No, I’m not doing this to get his attention. If I need to talk to him, well, I can just go talk to him. Thing is, I think thanking people publicly is good practice to get into. Someone that helped me could very well be the same someone that makes a big difference for someone else – and THAT matters to me.

Travis helped me get a really healthy perspective on all this internet marketing mumbo-jumbo – and I still stick to that perspective today. I think it’s really important to share that with others.

At the end of the day, it’s PEOPLE that matter – regardless of what you do online.

So, tell me – has anyone made a positive impact on YOUR internet marketing career? Someone who set you on the right path? There are LOTS of great marketers out there and many, many I have learned from and shared with. Who comes to mind first for YOU?

Let me know in the comments!

Other things to mention really quick -

Back in July, I posted about my AWeber account almost being hijacked. Today, I got another one of those dangerous emails. If you don’t know what I am talking about PLEASE go read my post about protecting your AWeber account here.

I also have another post coming soon that goes more in-depth with something I mentioned in my Google Panda Survival post. I’ll get that posted soon.

THANKS for another refreshing blog post. When I grow up I want to be a writer, just like you! :) Seriously, you were that person for me, Jennifer, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I have had other great people come into my ‘IM world’ since then, but initially I would even tell my hubby, ( who is TOTALLY not an internet marketer!) about you, and rave about this real person I found on the internet… ( I’ll never forget how you answered one of my emails about something and it just totally made my day that you took the time to write me back!)

Looking forward to the Google Panda post!

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:17 am

Vi – THANK YOU!

Good post Travis ( Although I Personally Never Met Him ) opened my eyes up more to internet marketing through the bum marketing method ( which is free everyone Google it ) @ Ryan seems like a smart kid ryansreview.com

Good post they both are top notch marketers. P.S. about Aweber there was a post in the Warriorforum about fake aweber emails going to people saying there account was compromised. When you click on the link in the email it goes to another site not Aweber do not put in your info it’s some sort of scam.

Happy Holidays

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 7:17 am

Yeah, they are both great guys and awesome example of solid ethical marketing.

And you’re correct – the email from the fake aweber asks to click a link (which resets your password/gives the bad guy/gal your password). Do NOT click the link.

Happy Holidays to you, too!

Leon December 5, 2011 at 6:59 am

Jennifer, your request to name someone who has had a positive influence on my internet marketing career is easy to comply with.

One of the first names to come to mind is PotPieGirl.

Your free courses, such as the DAM Way were what kick-started me into taking action, rather than just endless reading about internet marketing.

I’m a mature-aged newbie with just one site up and running, so I can’t claim to have an IM career yet, but without your help, I’d still be just reading.

Travis has also been helpful to me with his many freely given tips.

He comes across as a very savvy marketer, but I must admit I was sceptical about whether he was as genuinely down to earth as he presented himself on his videos. Glad to read he is the real deal.

I couldn’t afford to join Wealthy Affiliates, but my budget allowed me to join Mark Thompson’s Wordpress Goldmine forum, which I highly recommend because of the friendly, helpful people there.

Being an Aussie, I’d have to mention a young Internet Market from Downunder called Matt Carter who provides a lot of value to the newbies on his list.

Keep up the good work Jennifer.

Cheers, Leon

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 7:18 am

Hey Leon!

Thank you SO much! You’re doing great – just keep moving forward! And YES, Travis is just as “down to Earth” in “real life” as he comes across online =)

Mark and Matt are both AWESOME! I’ve had the pleasure of working with each of them.

Jennifer

Dee December 5, 2011 at 4:23 pm

@ Leon – I’m in the US and i discovered Matt Carter, too. He, along with another Aussie, Andrew Hanson, have been instrumental in getting me on the right track with my internet business. These guys seem very real and aren’t overly slick and I guess that’s wty I trust them.

Vi with "Gotta Love Internet Marketing" December 5, 2011 at 8:12 pm

I haven’t been on Mark’s list but Matt Carter and Jennifer’s emails are about the only ones I open. :) And I highly value both of their posts. It’s like a breath of fresh air compared to so much of the other stuff out there.

Saytue Saye December 5, 2011 at 7:07 am

I’ve never left a comment before on your blog, but this right here is a must. I promise you, I talk about you all the time (even though I’ve never met you in person) to my kids and their father, because it’s because of you (one week marketing) that got me so addicted to Internet Marketing and actually learning the truth about it and making money from it. I’ve always liked your style of marketing, and yes, you are one of those people that I’m subscribed to under multiple accounts and more than once under one account (Travis too). Crazy thing about that is, I found you unexpected ( I was about to quit trying to make money online).

You, Travis and Kyle are my top 3 in this business and honestly, I always try to follow everything you do. I did OWM and Power3Marketing and both of them is still working for me to this day. I even have a domain name under my pen name (saytuesayewhat.com). Anyways, I can go on and on about it, but just wanted to give you a big thank you for helping me believe in myself as a IM. I thank you for helping me make money, and I pray one of these days I will meet you in person.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 7:19 am

What an amazing comment – thank you so much!!!!

Rob Edwards December 5, 2011 at 7:11 am

H Jennifer,
I just finished reading your entry about Travis Sago and I can’t tell you enough how well I enjoyed it. Like you I got on his “list” in 2007. I am 58, not really of the computer generation. It was 2006 when I finally bought my first computer. I remember when I finally got it hooked up and the first thing I discovered was that I was going to be a millionaire when I woke up the next morning. lol. What with all those ” $20 bills choking my bank account, while I slept”, the ads were saying. After all, how could I miss especially since so many were advertising that, and the internet was such a trustworthy world, right? Well it took me about a year, but I had heard every scam and managed to empty my bank account a long the way. Boy my wife was sure proud of me for doing that.
As a result I went into one of your well described “purge modes” and got off everyone’s list. One day in August 2007, I did however read an ad somewhere and somehow I knew this ad was different. After all this ad wasn’t trying to get my money at all instead it was talking about this new concept called Bumm Marketing by Travis Sago. Well I once more gave my email address and again I was on a list. It only took a few seconds for my copy of Bumm Marketing to come back to me. I read it right away and Jennifer I remember feeling like this plan seemed so simple and I knew it would work, and it still does today. Needless to say, I am still on Travis’s lists today. He may try and sell you something sometime but I know he gives away much more than he sells. I knew when you were describing him who you were writing about before you typed his name. What really mystifies me is how I have managed to escape your list for so long. I just found your lists about 2 weeks ago and to be honest your writing comes across with the same ” Travis like” quality and that has to be a good thing. Of course you being “Southern ” helps and the fact that you wear your “Southernality well”. LOL. You remember “Southern” where we eat “supper” when everyone else is eating dinner and we eat eat dinner when others are at lunch. A place where we still say “Merry Christmas” without really caring if or who we may be offending by doing so. So Jennifer on that note let me say Merry Christmas to you…..Again a great entry Girl. By the way I am so excited about your “One Week Marketing Plan”. I do however have to wait until my income starts again. I had to have 2 back surgeries this year and as a result I lost my job and being almost 60 has made it almost impossible to find a job and with no income whatsoever I just haven’t been able to buy it yet. Sorry for the long comment ..Thanks again Jennifer
Rob

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 7:24 am

Hey Rob!

You sure nailed it when you said -

“Needless to say, I am still on Travis’s lists today. He may try and sell you something sometime but I know he gives away much more than he sells.”

SOOOOO true about Travis – and a great lesson for all of us, isn’t it?

He also has a magical way of keeping things simple AND make them feel “doable” (’cause they ARE doable!)

I didn’t think about the “Southern” aspect tho – silly, I don’t hear his accent (or mine!)

Sorry to hear about your back surgeries and I hope you are healing well.

And hey Rob? MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too!

Jaques Cilliers December 5, 2011 at 7:21 am

Great to recommend influential marketers the way you do Potpie Girl, I found some great inspiration from Eben Pagan, I am now a freelance writer, writing about various topics on places like Fiverr and iWriter, and doing great.

I am still in the process of writing eBooks, as I have only been involved full time since last week, when I joined WA.

Everyone must pay homeage to whoever had a part in their success.

Thanks for your inspiring message too Potpie Girl

Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas, To you and all your loved ones. Great post and I have said it at Wealthy Affiliates and feel the need to say it here. THANK YOU, for being a role model and an inspiration to me. Your last post talked about Travis from Bum Marketing and glad to know he is the real deal. Looking forward to getting to Vegas. Thanks Again Jenifer for another great post. Just a few quick notes. Jon December 5, 2011 at 9:00 am

Always good to remember and acknowledge those who have helped us along the way in our online marketing journey. I have to agree with your assessment of Travis “Bum Marketer” Sago and his refreshing down to earth character.

With regards the overwhelming emails you referenced in the first para I wrote a post here http://southernaffiliate.com/2011/11/email-subscriptions/ about how I handled that problem that some of your readers may find helpful.

Wishing you and your family and all your readers a safe and happy festive season.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 7:13 pm

Same to you, Jon – and thanks for the share!

Stephen Byrne December 5, 2011 at 9:18 am

Hi Jennifer,

very nice post to start the day with. Apart from yourself and Marcus (and most of WA) I would not be where I am also with out the emails and extra training from Joel Comm, Brian Johnson who’s Halloween courses are excellent (and sometimes wish WA could be as clear for newbies as his) and Lisa at 2 create a website. Everyone mentioned has helped me, a chef, make a small business for myself online and all the mails I get I look at as an extra bonus in education and entertaining reads.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:19 pm

Hiya Stephen =) Thanks for adding to the list! Brian Johnson is pretty awesome, too!

Glenda W December 5, 2011 at 10:22 am

Great post Jennifer.Like a couple of others, I too knew who you were talking about before you mentioned his name. Travis’ emails along with yours and a few others get opened. A select few of you have committed to giving valuable information to your subscribers and not just pitch after pitch. I think that I have every product you have produced except maybe for the last one. You have learned your craft well and are very inspiring to the rest of us. Thanks for the shout out for Travis and thank you for being true to who you really are.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:20 pm

Thank you, Glenda!

Shane December 5, 2011 at 11:06 am

Hi Jennifer:

I’ve never met Travis in person, but I’ve been on a few of his lists for quite a while. He seems to be one of the most genuine people in the IM business. I think I actually found you through one of his links and I’ve been one of your followers ever since. You both project honesty and sincerity, which is probably why you’ve had such success and staying power in this industry. Maybe one day I’ll get to meet you both at an IM event.

Thank you,
Shane

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:22 pm

Shane, that would be awesome! So glad things are going well for you =)

G’day Jennifer,
Terrific post,i’ve been on you and Travis’s tail for quite some time. every time you post there’s some new light bulb moment, my other half keeps on me to cleanup the emails so after this I am going to have a wasted few hours cleaning up email and redundant so called retirement programmes.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year, from downunder

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:23 pm

“Retirement programmes” – lol!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you both of you too!

David Robertson December 5, 2011 at 12:58 pm

Hi Jennifer.
Of course for many of us PotPieGirl is top of the list (thanks again Jennifer for all that you do). But a few others that have had significant impact on my IM career. Perry Marshall, Grizzly Beras, Holly Mann, Mark Ling, and Glenn Livingston.

There are real people out there and I find that my customers respond much better when they find out I am a real person too and am trying to work with them, not constantly dip into their pockets.

Best Wishes for Christmas
David

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:24 pm

Hiya David =)

Nice list! Thanks for sharing!

Jennifer

Elena December 5, 2011 at 2:41 pm

Hi Jennifer!

It’s really inspiring to read about impactful (!!!) people in your IM life.

For some time ago (ashamed to say exactly how many years ago) I joined WM as a result of clicking on Ryan’s Ad on Google. There I ‘met’ you and Travis and another (very senior member of WM) person BUT… it was too overwhelming and being on the list of all of you I couldn’t make my mind whom to follow :)

I love all of you sincere Internet marketers who want to hep other to make it online. But it was just too much for a ‘foreigner’ ( I mean English is not my mother tongue) trying to make it online.

After a while I left WM because of some shiny costly thing. Later I wanted to get back after a lot of WA promotions… but it was impossible to log into my old account (so stupid because it shouldn’t be a problem with such a simple thing)… and doesn’t matter how many emails I’ve sent to WM support and personally to founders ( I remember their names of course), I didn’t get neither help nor reply… kind of sad…I just gave up on WM

Now I have to say that your example helped me a lot not to quit (even after spending a fortune on this shiny thing and not getting much in return). Thank you Jennifer!

I have to gratefully mention two amazing Aussie ladies Paula and Wanda whose program APP I decided to follow literally word by word and I started to make money (not much but more or less consistently).

You Jennifer with SEO by Jennifer services helps to increase my income! And its a relief to pass this boring SEO part of marketing into hands of person you know and trust more than yourself.

Thanks again and big hug to you!

Elena

Elena December 5, 2011 at 3:17 pm

P.S.
I don’t know why instead of WA I wrote WM…

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:25 pm

Hey Elena!

YOU are doing awesome! I can’t imagine working in a language that’s foreign to me – that really impresses me!

Paula and Wanda are doing some amazing things – nice add to the list!

Thank you!

Jennifer

Monna Ellithorpe December 5, 2011 at 3:33 pm

Hi Jennifer,
I just had to comment and tell you what a great post this was. I originally started online with Rosalind Gardner. Matter of fact her book SAH was the first thing I ever sold online. I later found your OWM and YOU have been my mainstay since that time. I sign up and unsubscribe from lists from time to time but your list is the only I always stay on.

As for Travis, I am ashamed to say that I got off of his list but reading your post I remember how much I also learned from him and will be going back on his list.

I’m still not to the point I want to be online yet but that is partly my own fault and partly beyond my control (due to the death of my husband and just being non-motivated) but that is changing and I am getting back to serious work in my online career.

Thank you so much for always providing great information.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:27 pm

Oh Monna, Roz is amazing! I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with her at a Clickbank conference. She just blows me away and so down-to-earth and fun!

Merry Christmas to you and your family too!

Jennifer

PS – Totally get back on Travis’ list. He keeps it real =)

Monna Ellithorpe December 5, 2011 at 6:35 pm

Thanks again. I am already back on Travis’ list.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 7:12 pm

Wonderful!!!

Travis December 5, 2011 at 3:35 pm

Jenn,

I feel so honored…Thank you…you made my heart open.

Do you think it would be weird to print out
this post and frame it?

Hee…hee…

I could hang it in the living room above the fireplace?

That wouldn’t be TOO conspicuous…would it?

Jenn, I try not to be a prideful man, but dang…your
post is like getting an A+ on your report card…you
just can’t run home fast enough to tell Mom:-)

What you may not know?

Is how happy I was when…

You quit your JOB.
When you helped so many at WA and with OWM.
I saw your excitement over YOU taking Lee to Vegas.
Then you took folks by the hand and showed them their value with P3 Marketing
Then you bought your new home…you were so proud.
and your grand baby too!

You ARE incredible.

I’m honored that in some small way I encouraged
you to share PotPieGirl with the world:-)

…and then you go out and encourage others to share
their gifts.

Then likely, they do the same.

Thank YOU…Jenn.

Now…I wonder if I’ve got enough ink to print this?

Peace,
Travis

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:34 pm

Hey Travis =)

You’ve got some major fans around here – glad you stopped by!

Yes, I’ve been proud to share some big moments with you – it’s been a great journey so far.

I think you and I – as well as many others – are good examples of how “real”, down-to-Earth (and slighty odd) people can do really well online. There is no secret other than to be yourself, share, and help solve problems.

By the way, you didn’t play a small part for me – you had major impact. That’s why YOU get a WHOLE post…lol!

Just keep on doing what you’re doing, Travis. The internet is a much better place because of YOU.

Thank you for stopping by!

(my best to your better half!)

Jennifer

PS – Oh, and if you need to buy more printer ink, I bet I have an affiliate link around here you could use…hahahahahaha!

mary December 5, 2011 at 3:50 pm

I actually was on Travis Sago’s for over 3 years. He seemed to be very helpful. However, I unsubscribed from his list 2 months ago. Reason…he never finished Project Mom and every email I have gotten lately is promoting someone elses product.

PotPieGirl December 5, 2011 at 6:36 pm

Hiya Mary =)

I miss Project Mom too. Hopefully he will be able to get back to it (I believe there were reasons, but I’ll leave that to Travis).

But Travis still shares a ton of great info – I hope you’ll reconsider.

Thank you!

Jennifer

Joe Nobles December 5, 2011 at 4:15 pm

Hey Jennifer,

I just wanted to say this is such a great post! I remember back in the day, when I was trying to figure out this whole “work online” thing. I kept coming across scams all the time and got to the point where I thought everyone was the same.

That was until I came across Travis’ Bum Marketing Method. He’s the one that introduced me to Wealthy Affiliate and showed me not everything online is a scam.

When I joined Wealthy Affiliate, I was consumed by so much knowledge, that I remember going to bed every night with a headache from so much learning and reading.

If it wasn’t for coming across Travis, I would have probably given up on the whole “working online” idea.

Even though, I’m not as successful as I thought I would be with websites, I still became successful in my own way from the knowledge I gained. So, even though, I’m not bringing in all these sales like other marketers, I still continue to keep trying and not giving up, until I do succeed.

If it wasn’t for you and your One-Week Marketing e-book, I would have probably stayed confused, when I was first starting out, as well. So, you get a lot of credit with my learning. You have always tried to help or answer questions I had, when I was still trying to figure out everything. It meant a lot to me, because you do everything you can to help others out there succeed, as well.

So, hopefully, one day, I’ll be able to see the sales come in like most of you do. Until then, I just keep trying and hoping to make it one day.

Keep up the great work, Jennifer!

Hiya Joe =)

Travis is responsible for me being a WA member the last 3+ years =) When I decided to join, I hunted Travis down to be SURE I had HIS link ( I wanted credit given where credit was due, ya know?)

I also was the same way when first learning – SOOOOO much to learn and do. But I went to bed with my mind boggled and couldn’t wait to get up and do it all again. OWM is pretty much me showing how *I* made sense of all this and got it to work for me.

Keep moving forward, Joe!

I hardly ever opt out of IM emails. It’s fun to see what other marketers are up to… :)

Very true, Tim – list emails are GREAT learning.. and FREE learning =)

I’ve been on Travis’s list for quite a while and bought some of his products too. The reason why he appeals to me is that he makes his living outside of IM products too. Most marketers, and most product launches the gurus promote and create are aimed for other marketers. In other words, they sell you shovels so you can go dig for gold. Many times, you have to wonder, if they actually have any other experience, or if all their money comes from selling to other marketers. Travis, on the other hand, is clearly different. He demonstrated (and continues to do so) his ability to actually use what he teaches, and market to general population. I mean, what other guru would go and create a products like Getting Your Ex Back, or How To build a Chicken Coop. These are products for real life niches. So you know, that when it comes to selling you his IM related products, these products have been used on non-IM niches – and worked! To me, that makes him very different.

And of course, you (PotPieGirl) are in the same ‘boat’. You too made your money outside of IM niches, and only then started to make your IM products – based on your ACTUAL experience.

To me, that’s the most valuable aspect, as you both bring a real time experience into IM.

Does this comment sound too much like a paid endorsement or even butt kissing? I guess sometimes the truth sounds that way…;-)

Palusko,

That was a GREAT perspective to share (wish I had thought of it!). Yes! Following people who DO what they teach – and do it OUTSIDE the IM market – are great people to learn from. What a wonderful point, thank you!

Hi Jennifer!
YOU are my Travis. I never knew anything about Internet marketing until I started following you. I took all of your free training, and am an elite member in your Power 3 Marketing. YOU have been truly inspiring to me. Thank you for being the goober that you are. I can totally connect to that.

When I started reading your post, I was betting it was Travis you were talking about. :) In fact, I had just sent him a msg at WA telling him almost the exact same thing! I keep on lists of people like you and Travis because, as you said, you seem like ‘real’ people, not just someone trying to separate me from my money.

Thank you for being you and for giving a shout out to the King Bum! You both deserve all the success you receive.

Thanks for the post Jennifer.

I can second that Travis is a stand up guy. I may not know him personally like you do, but a couple of years ago, I communicated with him a bit via email, I have also seen many of his posts in wealth affiliate, and yep, he is what you see is what you get, but you can kind of tell that from his videos.

Over the last year or so I also have started really thanking people both public and privately as well as taking the time to tell people when I think they have done a good job at something, or just about anything postive I can say to people. I used to keep it in, but know I let it out.

it is amazing what impact a few little words can have on people.

p.s thank you for the AWeber post link. Ironically, I just got two of those emails a couple of days ago (prettty much almost exactly the same as your example) and like you I make it a policy of not clicking on the links. I was going to log into my AWeber account today anyway to check for any alerts (because I was still a bit worried). I will still do that, but you have put my mind at rest.

Cheers

Carlton

I agree with every word about Travis, he is one of the very few people I can always really trust. I believe every word he says (nothing to take for granted in this buisness) and I listen to ahis advice. I think he really cares about being honest and gives an amazing amount of value in every thing he does.
I never commenon anything sadly (too lazy) but I had to comment this time because I simply admire this man and I hope I always get more of his mails. Thanks Travis!:)
